In today’s world, sustainability has become a cornerstone of responsible business practices, driving innovation and growth while minimising environmental impact. To highlight how companies are driving these efforts, ET Insights in an exclusive leadership conversation spoke to Rajesh Jain, Managing Director of LPS Bossard Pvt Ltd, to know more on integrating sustainability into his organisation’s operations and community outreach initiatives.
Jain emphasised the importance of sustainability as an opportunity for growth and innovation, citing his company’s efforts to reduce energy consumption and waste management. He highlighted their sustainable building practices, since 2006, including the use of fly ash bricks and solar energy, which reduced energy consumption by 30 per cent. He mentioned their community outreach programmes, including planting 10,000 trees in the city annually and promoting waste management and water harvesting. He emphasised the need for personal accountability and also the role of technology in sustainability efforts, including automated irrigation systems and waste management.
When asked about advice for leaders, Jain emphasised the importance of practising what one preached and how employees need to take sustainability practices back home. He also highlighted the need for leaders to personally engage with sustainability efforts outside of the office. He also shared his next passion project, promoting the concept of Miyawaki forests, which aims to plant 12000 native trees in 15 acres. The company also intends to open a forest school to get all stakeholders to adopt this initiative. The company has also adopted technology to minimise their water and energy losses. Jain’s passion and commitment to sustainability serve as an inspiration for leaders to prioritise sustainability in their own organisations.
